Happy National Hot Chocolate Day!
I know this isn’t a real holiday, but any holiday that revolves around food, and chocolate, I’m down to celebrate!
Now, I could’ve just celebrated by pulling out some tried and true Swiss Miss out of the cabinet, but what’s the fun in that? I’ve seen this Unicorn Hot Chocolate floating around Instagram and Buzzfeed, so I thought I’d give it a try for myself. It’s so cute and girly, and it sounded delicious!
This is a super simple, fun recipe! Only a few ingredients, and my daughter loved it. Mainly because it was pink, and has sprinkles and marshmallows. (Too be honest, she was really only interested in the marshmallows- typical kid!)
2 cups milk
2 cups half & half
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla extract
A few drops of food coloring
Whipped cream or cool whip
Sprinkles, marshmallows, and edible glitter
Combine milk, half & half, chocolate chips, and vanilla extract into a medium-sized sauce pan, warm over medium heat. Do not boil!!
Once chocolate is completely melted, add the desired amount of food coloring
Divide into mugs
Top with sprinkles, marshmallows, and edible glitter
