2017 Beauty Favorites

I really love a good beauty product. I didn’t spend a whole lot of money on myself this year, but I did snag a couple of fun things on sale through out the year! I’m a sucker for a great sale at Ulta or Sephora, and TJ Maxx frequently has name brand products almost half off. Here are some of my favorites from 2017!

Skincare:

I have never really been big into skincare until this year. To be honest, my routine is still pretty basic. But this cleanser.. O.M.G. If you’re an oily girl like me, this will be perfect for you. It has little exfoliating beads that gently scrub without being too harsh for sensitive skin. I don’t often splurge, but I think this is definitely worth the money. Plus a little goes such a long way!

IMG_1038Skin Science Hydrating Face Serum ($5.99 from TJ Maxx, depending on location)

My mom turned me on to face serums this year, and I’m glad she did. I haven’t really found a face lotion that I’ve liked that isn’t too heavy so this is a great option for me. The lightweight oil absorbs quickly into my skin, and you only need about 2-3 drops. I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my skin over the last few months, and I really attribute it to this serum!

2017 has been the year of the face mask. Sheet, peel off, charcoal, clay, collagen- you name it. I’m seriously obsessed. I’ll read a book or listen to one of my favorite podcasts after the kiddos are in bed, and just relax for a little while. It’s the best!

Makeup:

IMG_1037Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealor ($28.00 from Ulta)

This has been my favorite foundation this year! I had some crazy skin issues after my little one was born in June. I had perfect skin my entire pregnancy…then BAM, breakout city. Gotta love those lovely hormones. This is a lightweight medium to full coverage foundation without feeling too heavy or cakey. It covered all my blemishes without causing more. That’s a win in my book!

IMG_1041Lorac Starlight Highlighter ($23.00 from Ulta)

This highlight is gorgeous, y’all. It’s bright without being too overwhelming for everyday, but it’s very buildable if you want that blinding glow. It’s a super smooth application and is finely milled without any chunky glitter.

IMG_1040Covergirl Lashblast Volume Mascara ($6.69 at Target)

Covergirl has one of my favorite mascara formulas ever. I was using Clump Crusher at the beginning of the year, but I switched to Lashblast a couple months ago. I prefer the brush on this wand because I feel like it’s more precise. It makes my lashes so long and full without clumping. You can’t go wrong with this classic!

IMG_1039Colorpop Creme Gel Liner ($5.00 on Colorpop.com)

This black liner is the bomb. It’s so creamy and easy to apply, with very little transfer. I use it in my lashline and it doesn’t budge.

IMG_1033Cala Unicorn Face brushes ($17.99 from Amazon, I found mine at TJ Maxx for $8.99)

I too hopped on this year’s unicorn craze. These Cala brushes are beautiful and super soft! They aren’t quite as dense as I would like, but they’re so pretty I don’t mind too much.

IMG_1035Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette ($49.00 from Sephora, I found mine at TJ Maxx for $24.99)

My complexion is pretty light most of the year, and I sometimes have a difficult time finding contour shades that aren’t to dark or too warm. This palette has a great shade range for the whole year! It easily transitions from summer to winter skin for us fairer skinned ladies. The formula is great- buttery and blendable- and perfect for contour novices like myself.

Hair Care:

IMG_1036Batiste Dry Shampoo ($7.99 from Ulta)

I live for dry shampoo. I’ve tried several different brands over the last few years, and this one is my favorite! I love the range of scents Batiste has, and it keeps my hair looking and feeling fresh. It’s my mommy hood staple!

What were some of your favorites from the past year?
